I don't see enough love for bullet hell shooters in this world. Most people just look at them and nope out of there like they just saw like 500 ghosts with herpes. They aren't nearly as hard as they seem to be most of the time. In most cases, a bullet can go straight through your face and you'd come out perfectly fine. The only place that actually counts if you get hit is somewhere around the center. Like in Touhou (my personal favorite bullet hell) its around your character's waist. Yeah, 1000 bullets to the face is fine, but if something comes near your waist it's instant death. It makes little sense from a normal persons's standpoint but from a game play perspective, it's the only way you could ever make it in between those little spaces between the balls of death that are coming directly at you. Most of the Touhou games are originally in Japanese, so if you want to understand anything that's happening you have to find an English patch for it, and even then the translations are a bit...off to say the least. Most of the dialogue just doesn't click like you'd expect it to. But the story is weird and complicated anyway, the game play itself is the fun part. And its when better when the soundtrack is really intense. Touhou 7 has an amazingly intense soundtrack that fits perfectly with each boss you're fighting. Exceed 3 also has a very intense soundtrack that's a lot more rock-like. The music is half the fun of bullet hell shooters sometimes. I recommend trying one, there are even a couple flash game bullet ehll shooters that are okay. I played one called "frantic" or something like that and I had a lot of fun with it. Granted, I only played it while at school and everything that's even remotely entertaining seems to have a fun multiplier of at least 5 when you're at school.
